An Introduction to IIE and to the Masjidul Islam Construction Project:

O Seekers of Righteousness, Proceed!

Masjid An Nabawi has a remarkable position in Islamic History as it was a center of Knowledge, a spring of Islamic Society and a parliament of government which was spread beyond the Arabian Peninsula.

These characteristics demonstrate the status of a Masjid in Islam and the lives of Muslims. The Masjid is not only a place of performing daily prayers, but rather a place where Muslims perform many religious activities as well as solver the different issues that occur in their lives.

In addition, the importance of the Masjid increases in countries where Muslims have migrated. It is a place that adorns members of our community with the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah, thus enabling our youth and elders to draw from the well-springs of knowledge. For these reasons and others, the Qur'an urges Muslims to build Masajid. It is stated in the Qur'an, "Indeed those who believe in Allah (swt) and Hereafter, they are those who build the Masajid."

Likewise, Rasulullah (saw) urged the Ummah to build Masajid. He said "Whoever builds Masajid for the sake of Allah, in return Allah will build a house for him in Jannah."

Due to the great importance of Masajid in our social lives as Muslims and our need for it to accommodate our religious affairs, the Institute of Islamic Education (IIE), which has been serving the community for over 15 years by teaching the Qur'anic and Islamic Sciences, now embarks on a new project - to build a Masjid which would be located in the midst of thousands of Muslims.

Unfortunately, to this day, Muslims living in these regions- Elgin, Bartlett and neighboring communities- have been deprived of a Jama Masjid where they can gather to perform the five daily prayers, Sunnah and Eid prayers, and where they can demonstrate their noble social interactions, their Spiritual Unity and their Islamic Brotherhood.

Therefore, we request and encourage all of our brothers and sisters who aspire to gain virtues in this world and the hereafter to participate in this project, which shall benefit all Muslims regardless of their proximity to it. In fact, through this participation, we invite them to build for themselves a house which no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard and no heart has ever thought about in Jannah.

The Project Masjid

The Masjid will be built on a 22,000 sq ft area and will accommodate 600 worshippers. It will include a big hall for seminars, conferences and classrooms. This great project requires about $2,500,000. We are confident that we will collect this amount through your help and generosity.

The Participation in the Project Masjid

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, if you wish to participate in this project, you can take the responsibility of a sector or part of a sector in the building process, such as the Electrical System, Air Conditioning, Heating, Metal Beams, Bricks, Wood, etc. You may also take charge of one Musallah by donating $2,800.

We hope that Allah (swt) will reward you continuously for every prayer and sajdah performed in this Masjid by your fellow Muslims. Ameen.
